
Meet Bro. Dr. Avery Kenly
A native of Atlanta, Brother Kenly is a 1999 initiate of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. through the Eta Lambda Chapter. He is the 2019 and 2020 Eta Lambda Chapter Brother of the Year and past Georgia District Brother of the Year (2019-2020). He holds Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Florida A&M University, Educational Certification in Special Education and Secondary Math (6-12) from the University of Georgia, an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University and a Doctorate Degree in Leadership, Policy, and Organizations from Vanderbilt University.
Professionally, Bro. Kenly serves as Coordinating Supervisor of Professional Learning for Clayton County Public Schools. In addition to Eta Lambda, Brother Kenly is a life-long member of the Warren United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia having served as a member of the Board of Trustees and the United Methodist Men. He also holds membership in several professional, service, and fraternal organizations including the Florida A&M University National Alumni Association (life member), Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity (life member), Tri-M Music Honor Society, National Educators Association, Georgia Educators Association, Clayton County Educators Association, National Association of Black Male Educators, and the Learning Forward Professional Learning Association. Brother Kenly and his wife, Dr. Lizzette Kenly are the proud parents of one daughter, Morgan Kenly.
