Meet Bro. Louis Bates Jr.

With a platform of Brotherhood First, Bro. Bates oversees all operations and serves as the official representative of the chapter. A native of Silver Spring, Maryland, Brother Bates is a 1996 initiate of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. through the Alpha Lambda Chapter and is a 2nd generation Alpha Man. He holds a BS in Accounting and an MBA, both from Florida A&M University. 

Professionally, Bro. Bates is the Business Manager of Pediatric Dentistry at Vinings, which he owns alongside his wife, Dr. Faith N. Bates. Together they have 3 children – Amber, Gabrielle, and Louis III. In addition to Alpha, he has served in various roles for organizations including the Entrepreneurs Ministry at Elizabeth Baptist church, Fathers Auxiliary for Jack & Jill – North Suburban Chapter, Nickajack Elementary School Foundation, Smyrna Little League, Eddie Lee Wilkins Basketball Leage, Rhyne Park Softball, Smyrna Soccer Club, and First Baptist of Smyrna – Upward. Additionally, he is a founder of the Louisville chapters of National Black MBA Association and FAMU Alumni Association. When not serving the community, Bro. Bates is an avid golfer.
